A turnover led to a 6-0 deficit, but the Raiders scored at will from there on to beat the Hawks in a Class 5A Division I playoff game at Rough Rider Stadium. Raiders quarterback Spencer Sanders found Jamarion Robertson for a 46-yard touchdown, followed by an 11-yard scoring throw to Chritauski Dove. Ryan led 21-6 at halftime. Birdville’s Derrius Franklin grabbed an interception on the third play from scrimmage and returned it 48 yards to the Ryan seven yard line. Birdville’s Laderrious Mixon’s one-yard touchdown run put the Hawks up 6-0.

Key players: Sanders threw for 304 yards and five touchdowns and added 103 rushing yards on 13 carries. The Raiders’ Emani Bailey ran for 107 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Mixon led Birdville with 106 rushing yards.

Key stat: Ryan’s defense got the ball back on downs twice in the second quarter.
