Heritage pours on the scores to send Eaton packing

The Panthers scored the final 35 points to rout the Eagles in a Class 5A Division I area round game Friday at Apogee Stadium in Denton. Heritage receiver Ke’Von Adams scored a momentum-swinging 75-yard touchdown with the game tied 7-all late in the second quarter. Adams would lead all receivers with six catches for 158 yards and the touchdown. Heritage meets Lubbock Coronado in the next round.
Key players: Heritage receiver Kam Brown hauled in a 63-yard touchdown pass to score the game’s first points. Brown finished with six catches for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Through just over two quarters, Heritage quarterback Jagger Laroe threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns. Panthers quarterback Landry French followed that with three touchdown drives.
Key stat: The Panthers’ biggest defensive play came on a 24-yard interception return for a touchdown by defensive back Tyler Hoernig with 13 seconds remaining in the first half.
