TCU basketball draws Auburn in Big 12/SEC Challenge
TCU, undefeated in the Big 12/SEC Challenge, will play Auburn in next season’s matchup of the conferences.
The Horned Frogs and Tigers will meet Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at Schollmaier Arena. It will be their first game since 1996, when they played at the Big Island Invitational in Hilo, Hawaii.
TCU is 3-0 in the SEC-Big 12 challenge, with victories at Mississippi State on Dec. 5, 2013, at Ole Miss on Dec. 4, 2014, and in Fort Worth against Tennessee on Jan. 30 this year thanks to a rally from a 14-point halftime deficit.
TCU is 1-2 all-time against Auburn, losing meetings in 1957 and 1966.
Both TCU and Auburn have new coaches, Jamie Dixon and Bruce Pearl. Auburn noted on its web site that Pearl’s Tennessee team defeated Dixon’s Pittsburgh team in 2010 as part of a Big East/SEC challenge.
The Big 12 is 20-10 in three years of the Big 12/SEC Challenge.
Here are the rest of the matchups:
Texas at Georgia
