TCU basketball staff adds former LSU assistant David Patrick
TCU announced the hiring of David Patrick as an assistant men’s basketball coach, joining new head coach Jamie Dixon’s staff.
Patrick spent the past four years at LSU, where his recruiting helped the Tigers land the nation’s top recruit, Ben Simmons, the national freshman of the year in college basketball last season.
Simmons was part of a recruiting class ranked third in the nation. LSU’s recruiting class in 2013 was ranked No. 5 behind NBA first-round pick Jarell Martin and second-round pick Jordan Mickey.
Before LSU, Patrick was a scout with the Houston Rockets. He also spent four years at Saint Mary’s, including its 2008 and 2010 NCAA tournament teams, where he signed Patty Mills and Matthew Dellavedova.
Patrick is a Bermuda native who grew up in Melbourne, Australia, and played one season at Syracuse as part of its 1996 Final Four team. He finished his college career at Louisiana-Lafayette.
