TCU women’s basketball coach Raegan Pebley arrived back home Friday after the Horned Frogs’ season-ending loss Thursday at UT El Paso to a heartwarming surprise.

Her daughter Harper (“Love, Harps”) had written a letter to Mom.

Pebley wrote on her Twitter account: “Just came home to this letter on the kitchen counter from my daughter. God blessed me beyond measure.”

Possibly the best sentiment from the letter: “It is OK to be sad, mad, angry, depressed or right between I’m over it and I still can’t believe we lost.”

The TCU bio for Pebley gives her children’s ages as Joseph, 11, and Harper, 8. Raegan Scott Pebley was on the coaching staff at Colorado State when she met husband Keith Pebley, who was on the football coaching staff at Colorado State.

Last year, espnW.com columnist and Around the Horn panelist Kate Fagan wrote a nice commentary on life on the NCAA Tournament bubble for Pebley and her family.

TCU missed the 2015 NCAA Tournament after a close loss to Texas in the Big 12 tournament.

This season, the Frogs finished 18-15 after the 79-71 loss at UTEP, which is 29-4 and Thursday had a crowd of 7,024 rooting for the Miners. UTEP goes into the WNIT quarterfinals Monday night against Oregon.
