Houston linebacker commits to TCU, adds to record class
Gary Patterson received some good news on Monday night.
Three-star linebacker Jacoby Simpson (Houston/MacArthur) announced his commitment to the Frogs, two days before National Signing Day.

Simpson became the 21st commitment for TCU in 2018, adding to a class that should end up as the highest-rated recruiting class in school history.
He’s rated as the No. 624 player overall, No. 28 inside linebacker, and No. 87 player in Texas, per 247.
Simpson took his official visit to TCU on Jan. 19 and followed that up with OVs to Texas Tech on Jan. 26 and Texas A&M on Feb. 2. In the end, though, the Frogs won out for a player that also had offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Colorado State, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, Memphis, North Texas, and Tulane.
This ignited a Twitter storm of happiness from TCU’s coaching staff.
