TCU baseball given 12-1 odds to win CWS title
As the Road to the College World Series begins in earnest for the nation’s top college baseball teams, TCU has been given 12-1 odds to bring home this year’s national championship by Bovada Sports Book.
The Horned Frogs (42-16), who host this week’s regional tournament that begins Friday in Fort Worth, received the eighth-best odds to bring home this year’s NCAA title. Among schools from the Lone Star State, only Texas Tech (10-1 odds), which shared this year’s Big 12 regular-season title with TCU, receives better odds to prevail in Omaha.
The prohibitive favorite is Oregon State, who posted a 49-4 record during the regular season and received 4-1 odds to prevail in Omaha. The top odds after that were assigned to North Carolina (5-1), Florida (15-2), Louisville (15-2), LSU (15-2), Stanford (10-1), Texas Tech (10-1), TCU (12-1) and Kentucky (12-1). Among Texas-based schools, Houston (40-1) was the only other school to receive individual odds.
TCU opens its postseason quest at 8 p.m. Friday in Lupton Stadium against Central Connecticut State (36-20).
