Bill Clinton to speak at Paul Quinn College in Dallas
Former President Bill Clinton is reaching out to North Texans — on behalf of his wife — this week.
After announcing a local public event last week, the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign offered more details Friday.
Bill Clinton will speak at 5:45 p.m. Monday at the Paul Quinn College student union, 3837 Simpson Stuart Road, in Dallas.
“President Clinton will lay out what is at stake in this election and discuss why Hillary Clinton is the best candidate to fight for American families, especially in underserved communities, in her commitment to raise incomes and create shared prosperity for all,” a statement from the campaign read.
Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are locked in a battle for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination this year, and both are hoping to shore up grassroots support in the dozen states voting March 1.
Texas — with its 155 GOP delegates and 252 Democratic delegates — is the big prize of Super Tuesday.
Before Bill Clinton campaigns in Dallas, he will hold a separate campaign event in Laredo at Texas A&M International University.
Both of his campaign stops Monday come after Hillary Clinton holds a Get Out the Vote organizing event in Houston on Saturday.
Hillary Clinton has made several trips to Texas in recent months, including one to speak at Mountain View College in Dallas in November.
The Clintons made several campaign appearances in Tarrant County during her 2008 presidential bid.
Anyone interested in attending Monday night can RSVP at www.hillaryclinton.com/events/view/1775289. Doors will open at 4:40 p.m.
