6-year-old boy drowns in backyard swimming pool in Fort Worth, police say

A 6-year-old boy drowned on Monday in a backyard swimming pool in Fort Worth, police said.

Joseph Ngalamulume drowned in the 8200 block of Fall Crest Drive, in northeast Fort Worth near Hurst, about 1:45 p.m., authorities said.

Police officers who responded to a report of a child in the pool found the boy unresponsive underwater. Ngalamulume was taken to Cook Children’s Hospital and pronounced dead, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police said there is currently no foul play suspected, and the investigation remains ongoing.
