Fort Worth police are investigating after the body of a 40-year-old man was found in the Trinity River near the Panther Island Pavilion early Tuesday, officials said.

Officers responded to the 300 block of Purcey Street around 12:50 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, for a water emergency. Someone called 911 to report there was a person in the river, police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Henry Joseph Cizkovsky. Rulings on his cause and manner of death are still pending an autopsy.

Police said the circumstances surrounding Cizkovsky’s death are not clear, and the investigation is ongoing. Detectives from the Homicide Unit were notified.
