Suspect arrested in fatal Fort Worth shooting
An Arlington man was in custody Friday, accused of killing one man and injuring another at a bar last weekend.
Karri Kartik Viswanath, 20, was arrested Wednesday afternoon. He was in the Mansfield Jail on Friday with bail set at $50,000.
Patrol officers were dispatched to a shooting call shortly after 2 a.m. Dec. 20.
Two people got into an argument at Stiletto’s Cabaret, 3929 FM 157 near the city limits of Fort Worth and Euless, police have said. The fight continued into the parking lot where at least one person pulled out a handgun and fired shots.
John Williams, 28, of Fort Worth was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:22 a.m., according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.
A 25-year-old man who was injured was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital. His condition could not be learned on Friday.
Viswanath faces a murder charge, according to jail records. There was not a notation about the case involving an injured man.
