Fort Worth man charged with murder; witnesses say it was over sunglasses

A 29-year-old Fort Worth man was charged with murder Monday in the fatal shooting of another man after what witnesses say was an argument over sunglasses.

Nicholas Jeremiah Jackson is accused of shooting Ronald Wyatt, 32, in the face with a shotgun Friday morning as Wyatt sat in a vehicle in front of a house where Jackson’s family lives in the 1400 block of Stafford Drive in south Fort Worth.

Wyatt was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police that the two men had been arguing over sunglasses that Jackson sold to Wyatt, homicide Sgt. Joe Loughman said.

Jackson was in the Mansfield Jail on Tuesday, with bail set at $150,000.

Detectives are still investigating whether other issues also led to the shooting, Loughman said. He declined to elaborate.
