Fort Worth man fatally shot while hunting near Azle
A 42-year-old Fort Worth man who was found shot in the back Tuesday near Azle had been hunting with an acquaintance, the Parker County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Deputies responded to a 911 call at 5:45 p.m. from the 400 block of Rider Lane near Azle. They found a man lying on the ground shot in the right side of his back, according to a news release. He was pronounced dead later at a hospital.
The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified the man as Gentjan Behaj, 42, of Fort Worth. The cause of his death was “shotgun wound of back,” the ME reported.
Sheriff’s investigators are continuing to look into the circumstances of the shooting death, the news release said.
A sheriff’s spokeswoman declined to answer a question about what they might have been hunting at that location. Dove season began Sept. 1 and runs through Nov. 13.
