Worker killed in Burleson warehouse accident
A Fort Worth man was killed Monday afternoon in a warehouse accident at a business park in the city, officials said Tuesday.
Jesus Resendez, 66, of Fort Worth, died at the scene, according to officials with the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office. A ruling on his death was pending.
The accident occurred just before 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Chicken E. Food Service, 6500 High Point Parkway.
Resendez was driving a floor sweeper when he ran into a rail and was injured, officials said.
Police, firefighters and paramedics responded to what was characterized as a medical emergency.
The warehouse is an 89,000-square-foot office and distribution space on 26 acres of the park’s 160-acre development, according to city officials. The office/distribution complex serves the Chicken Express restaurant chain in a five-state region (Texas, Arkansas, Georgia, Oklahoma and Louisiana) that includes 190 locations.
