Leon Bridges’ magical year continued apace today with the announcement that the Fort Worth-based singer-songwriter will appear as the musical guest on the Dec. 5 episode of Saturday Night Live, with host Ryan Gosling.
The news comes just days after his sold-out homecoming at the Majestic Theatre, having spent the fall touring America to critical acclaim, releasing his Columbia Records debut, Coming Home, with an intimate gig at the Scat Jazz Lounge (likely the last time he’ll play such cozy environs ‘round these parts) and generally dominating this year’s South by Southwest.
It’s been a meteoric rise from washing dishes at Del Frisco’s to nationally televised performances for the 26-year-old artist, and in what could not be more fitting timing, guess what is being announced the Monday following Bridges’ SNL debut?
Never miss a local story.
