About the Blues: St. Louis sits in second place in the Central Division behind Nashville but has struggled recently with losses in five of six games (1-3-2) before Thursday’s 4-1 home win over. ... Leading scorer Vladimir Tarasenko (36 goals, 71 points) missed Thursday’s game with a lower-body injury sustained in Monday’s 4-1 loss to Vancouver and is listed as day-to-day. ... The Blues recalled forward Ty Rattie from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. Rattie, 22, was second on the AHL team with 42 points (including 21 goals) in 59 games.

About the Stars: Dallas trails Winnipeg (90 points) by six points for the final wild card spot with five games remaining for each team. Los Angeles (88) and San Jose (85) also lead the Stars entering Thursday’s action. ... The Stars on Thursday recalled forward Valeri Nichushkin from a three-game conditioning assignment with the Texas Stars. Nichuskin, 20, who has missed most of the season after having hip surgery Nov. 18, could play Friday. ...
