Stars at Jets

7 p.m. Thursday, MTS Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba

TV: FSSW

Radio: KTCK/1310 AM and 96.7 FM

Records: Stars 3-2-1, 7 points; Jets 2-4-0, 4 pts.

About the Stars: Antti Niemi’s 28 saves against the Jets and Tyler Seguin’s third-period goal in Tuesday’s 3-2 victory gave Dallas a bit of salvation on their 1-1-1 homestand. These Central Division foes will know alot about each other after playing three times in a two-week span. After Thursday’s clash they meet again Nov. 8 in Winnipeg. Seguin has thrived against the Jets, scoring points in seven consecutive games and notching 12 goals and 10 assists in 14 games against Winnipeg since joining the Stars.

About the Jets: Winnipeg has lost two in a row and their minus-6 goal differential is the second-worst in the NHL. Both their wins this season have been in overtime. The Jets put up a ferocious fight Tuesday in Dallas but goals by Joel Armia and Mark Scheifele along with Michael Hutchinson’s 23 saves weren’t enough to post a victory. The Jets still question the power-play goal by Patrick Eaves that occurred after a scrum left him alone in front of the Winnipeg net. The Jets have 17 games in the next 28 days, including 11 on the road.
