Dak Prescott grew up a Cowboys fan. So he was as disappointed as any Cowboys fan when his favorite team lost to the Redskins to end the 2012 season.

Like many Cowboys fans, Prescott tweeted about his displeasure with quarterback Tony Romo, who threw three interceptions in the 28-18 loss.

I’m DONE Taking up for Romo. #hadenough

It now creates for an awkward beginning for Prescott in Dallas after the Cowboys made him the fourth-round pick to develop behind Romo.

Prescott was ready for the question Friday on the first day of the team’s rookie minicamp and isn’t worried about it affecting his relationship with Romo.

“I’m going to let him bring it up,” Prescott said. “I think it’s funny. I’m sure he’ll think it’s funny. I was a frustrated fan at the time. I’m sure you can go back and look at fans of Mississippi State, and they may have said something similar at one point or another, so I was just being a fan and now he’s my teammate and I’m behind him 100 percent.”

Prescott hasn’t met Romo yet, but he’s ready to learn from the 14-year veteran.

“He’s a great quarterback, a Pro Bowl guy,” Prescott said. “He’s done a lot for this organization, so to be able to come in behind him and follow him on and off the field will benefit me a lot.”
