The Dallas Cowboys' draft didn't exactly turn them into darlings of Las Vegas oddsmakers. In fact, their draft class headlined by Ohio State star running back Ezekiel Elliott led to lower odds.

The Cowboys have the same odds as the Minnesota Vikings and Indianapolis Colts to win the championship next season, as Bovada pegged that group at 22-to-1 favorites. Dallas had 20-to-1 odds going into the draft.

Elliott is sure to make a difference in his rookie season as the Cowboys want to go back to their 2014 form of pounding the ball, controlling the clock and keeping their defense off the field.

But their second-round pick of Jaylon Smith, the linebacker out of Notre Dame, likely won't see the field in 2016. Smith is recovering from a severe knee injury and must hope that the nerve regenerates properly.

The New England Patriots, meanwhile, are the odds-on favorite to win the Super Bowl. They are at 7-to-1 followed by the Seattle Seahawks (8-1) and the Green Bay Packers (10-1) and Pittsburgh Steelers (10-1).

Other odds of note:

▪  Elliott is on a couple of prop bets with his over/under total rushing yards set at 900, and his over/under total touchdowns at 7.5.

▪  Elliott has 5-to-2 odds to win NFL offensive rookie of the year. Only top pick Jared Goff, the quarterback taken by the Los Angeles Rams, has better odds at 2-1.

▪  A couple notable players also on the rookie of the year board: Former Baylor wide receiver Corey Coleman, drafted by the Cleveland Browns, is 15-2. TCU wide receiver Josh Doctson, drafted by the Washington Redskins, is at 12-1. And Oklahoma wide receiver Sterling Shepard, drafted by the New York Giants, is at 16-1.
