Dallas Cowboys to open preseason at LA Rams, close vs. Texans
As expected, the Dallas Cowboys will open the exhibition season at the Los Angeles Rams, according to the official preseason schedule released by the NFL on Thursday.
The Rams game is set for Saturday, Aug. 13 and will be nationally televised by ESPN. It coincides with the team still being in California for training camp.
The Cowboys plan to report to training camp in Oxnard, Calif., July 28 with their first practice set for July 29.
The Cowboys will break camp Aug. 19 for the second preseason game and home opener at AT&T Stadium against Miami in Week 2 (Aug. 19-21).
The Cowboys will then resume training camp at The Star in Frisco, where their new headquarters and training facilities are located. Fans will be allowed to attend camp at the Star.
The Cowboys will play at Seattle for their third preseason game (Aug. 26-28), which is usually the dress rehearsal for the season.
They will then end the preseason hosting the Houston Texans for state bragging rights in the traditional Texas Governor's Cup matchup. That game historically has been on a Thursday (Sept. 1).
