The Dallas Cowboys bolstered their scouting department by adding a former top executive with Atlanta Falcons, according to sources.
Lionel Vital, who was fired as the Falcons director of player personnel in January, has been added to the Cowboys department as a senior personnel executive.
He will report directly to Will McClay, who is the team’s senior director of college and pro scouting.
Vital has 25 years of scouting and personnel experience with the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, New York Jets and Cleveland Browns. He has spent the past eight years with the Falcons, starting as a national scout before being elevated to director of player personnel in 2013.
