Dez Bryant gets promotional deal with BODYARMOR sports drink
Dez Bryant believes in BODYARMOR so much he was willing to be interviewed to promote the drink. The Cowboys star receiver conducted a round of phone interviews Monday to promote the new natural sports drink, which launches in Texas on Tuesday.
Bryant has had dehydration issues for much of his career and said the drink helped him stay hydrated once he started using it early last season.
“I tried their product, and it was extremely outstanding,” Bryant said. “Not only did it have a great taste, it actually had an affect on my body. I started working out better, catching my wind better, hydrating -- my hydration level got better -- and it was just an outstanding opportunity to be able to partner with BODYARMOR. I’m very thankful that they chose me, because BODYARMOR just fit everything about me. It’s everything I need to keep my body right.”
As part of the partnership, Bryant will appear in advertising campaigns for the brand. Skylar Diggins, who will play for the Dallas WNBA team, will team up with Bryant in promoting BODYARMOR.
Bryant also has a marketing deal with Nike’s Jordan Brands.
A spokeswoman for Jay Z’s Roc Nation, which handles Bryant’s marketing, said they have been deliberately selective in Bryant’s endorsements, seeking “authentic partnerships off the field that would help support what he does on the field.”
“I had to take advantage of this opportunity,” Bryant said. “If I can get more athletes like myself using this product, most likely it will make a difference for them in dealing with hydration issues like it did for me.”
