Cowboys feel they’re a “dangerous” team going into playoffs

It’s hard to find a team with more momentum than the Cowboys going into the playoffs.

They are playing well at the right time, it seems, coming off an undefeated December and feel they are a threat to run through the NFC in the playoffs. It all starts with Sunday’s wild-card game against the Lions at AT&T Stadium.

“I feel like we’re definitely a dangerous team,” defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford said. “We’ve just got to go into this game plan just like we’ve done every game. And, at practice this week, take it one step at a time and get coached up and go into the game with everything correct.”

The Cowboys won their four December games by a combined score of 165-79, scoring 40 or more points in three of them. The defense is also peaking at the right time, holding their last two opponents to less than 20 points.

“I really do feel like we’re dangerous, but every other team is dangerous too,” defensive end Jeremy Mincey said. “They’ve all fought to make it here, so we can’t look at ourselves as superior. We’ve just got to focus on being us, being the best version of ourselves and focus on what we’ve been doing lately and just get better.”

Added left guard Ronald Leary: “It’s been a pretty good December, but we’re going to keep it rolling into the playoffs. It’s going to get better.”

If the Cowboys can get by the Lions, that would set up a matchup at Green Bay the following Sunday with a trip to the NFC Championship on the line.
