Strengths: Marshall continues to age like fine wine. He has 89 catches for 1,187 yards and 11 touchdowns this season. He has scored in all but three games this season. It puts Marshall on pace for his best season since 2012. In the past three games, he has 27 receptions for 387 yards and four touchdowns. Marshall has the body and the athletic ability that teams look for in the prototypical receiver. He is tall, strong and athletic. Marshall uses all of his attributes in separating himself from press coverage. He is not a burner, having run a 4.55-second speed at the combine in 2006, but he is fast enough. Marshall poses a threat in the red zone because of his height and his leaping ability (37-inch vertical). He is a big-play threat. Marshall is tough to bring down. He ranks sixth in the NFL with 814 yards after the catch.

Weaknesses: There is a reason Marshall has played for four teams in his career. He wears out his welcome. In 2011, Marshall revealed he was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. He sometimes fails to control his emotions on the field, though he has gotten better in recent seasons. Marshall will have concentration lapses, especially if he is not involved in the offense for a period of time during a game. He will drop some easy balls. His eight drops this season tie him for eighth most in the NFL.

Last week: He caught six passes for 125 yards and a touchdown in the Jets’ 30-8 victory over the Tennessee Titans.

Who has to stop him? Quarterbacks have targeted Brandon Carr 63 times, with Carr allowing 37 catches for 448 yards and no touchdowns. He has five pass breakups. Morris Claiborne has allowed 32 catches on 55 targets for 493 yards and two touchdowns. He has seven pass breakups. The Cowboys released nickel corner Tyler Patmon on Tuesday.
