DeMarcus Lawrence is ready to “get after it” now that he is feeling healthy again. The rookie defensive end was limited in practice last week after injuring his ribs in the Thanskgiving Day game against the Eagles and then tweaking the injury during practice.
He was on the field before pregame warmups and could have played, but the Cowboys had him on the inactive list as a precaution. He said he will return to a full practice Wednesday.
“It was a team decision,” Lawrence said Tuesday. “We were headed out to the field. The coaching staff felt like it would be best for me to sit that one out and take the five-day break and get a little healthier.”
Lawrence, a second-round pick, missed the first eight games after breaking a bone in his foot during training camp. Thus, Lawrence said sitting out the Bears game last week was even tougher.

“It was just one of those key times where you have to look past today and look toward the future,” Lawrence said. “It was just me waiting to go back on the field tomorrow.”
He has played in four games, with six tackles and two quarterback pressures.
