Running back Joseph Randle remains away from the Dallas Cowboys as he continues to address personal issues and bizarre behaviors that has the team concerned about his wellness.
He has not been in practice, meetings or rehab since bolting from the Cowboys’ Valley Ranch headquarters on Wednesday worrying about the safety of his girlfriend.
Randle had already been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks because of a strained oblique that been bothering him since training camp.
Randle’s return to the team is up in the air because of his personal issues as well as an ongoing NFL investigation into a domestic violence incident from last February. No charges were ever filed in the case but he could be disciplined under the personal conduct policy.
Owner Jerry Jones said on his radio show Friday on 105.3 FM The Fan that the league was reviewing the matter today.
“No. This would be way ahead of that type consideration. So the answer is no relative to I think the team,” Jones said when asked if Randle’s status was in jeopardy. “The NFL is reviewing at this time, as a matter of fact today, reviewing his issue he had last spring in Wichita that cleared the legal and cleared the law enforcement of Wichita , but still the NFL’s conduct policy has other aspects to it and so they’ve been reviewing that. That could have some consequences.”
