Greg Hardy created a stir Tuesday when he met with the media for the first time since signing with the Dallas Cowboys last March.
Among the more notable comments Hardy made centered on Tom Brady’s wife, model Gisele Bundchen.
Hardy, who hasn’t played an NFL game in 14 months stemming from a May 2014 domestic violence incident, joked about why he loves facing Brady.
“I love seeing Tom Brady. He’s cool,” Hardy said. “Have you seen his wife? I hope she comes to the game, I hope her sister comes to the game, all her friends come to the game. One of my favorite games of the year, guys.”
Brady’s response to New England reporters on Wednesday?
“I’m just getting ready to play, man,” Brady said. “I’ve got to focus on my job. He’s a great player. We’ve got to … It takes a lot of different things to handle a guy like that. But he’s been a great player since he’s been in the league, so we’re going to have to prepare for him and be ready for all different types of moves that he’s got.
“But they’ve got a good D-line anyway. They count on getting pressure from their front four getting to the quarterback, so I don’t really care about his personal feelings.”
Hardy had one sack against Brady in 2013, when Hardy was with the Carolina Panthers. He hopes to get another Sunday when he returns to the NFL after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
Asked how he views facing Brady and the Patriots, Hardy said: “The same way I did last time I saw him. Hopefully, on the ground.”
