Dallas Cowboys

Cowboys-Eagles game balls

Cowboys defense: Totally dominant. Philadelphia was held to 7 yards rushing, and the unit created three turnovers in the form of two interceptions (J.J. Wilcox and Sean Lee) and one fumble recovery (Nick Hayden). The Eagles had just one first down at halftime and five three-and-out possessions in the game.

Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee: He deserves to be singled out. Lee led all tacklers with 14 and added two tackles for loss, two passes defensed and an interception in the end zone. On plays he didn’t make, he was always nearby.

Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli: Practice makes perfect. Marinelli preaches turnovers and running to the football. He got both Sunday as Dallas created three turnovers and seven tackles for loss. The line penetration and gang tackling was especially impressive.

Cowboys special teams: Danny McCray blocked a punt that Kyle Wilber returned 26 yards for a touchdown. Dan Bailey made two field goals, and Chris Jones averaged 52.5 yards per punt with a long of 61.

Cowboys quarterback Brandon Weeden: From the bench to live action in seconds, Weeden replaced the injured Tony Romo and not only protected a 13-0 lead but also built on it with a clutch 42-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Williams with 4:13 to go in the game. He completed all seven of his passes for 73 yards and a 149.7 passer rating.
