Corey White smiled when someone pointed out he was still wearing the hospital bracelet from his trip home to Atlanta for the birth of his daughter, Aubrey.
“I’ll leave it on til the game,” White said, referring to the Cowboys’ second preseason game at San Francisco on Sunday.
“It was crazy. You don’t know you’re having a child til you hold it, til it gets here, and you hold it and just look at it. It’s a great experience.”
White returned to the Cowboys’ walk-through Friday afternoon, after missing the previous three days to return home. He admitted it was difficult leaving his first child just a few days after she arrived, but also knows he has a job to do and a team to make.

White has put himself in a good position to make the 53-man roster, having had two pass breakups in the first preseason game against the Chargers. But he knows nothing is guaranteed at this point.
“It feels great to be back with the guys,” White said. “I’m ready to go and get back to work.”
