Michael Irvin explains downfall of the infamous ‘White House’ on podcast
Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin was on the “All the Smoke,” podcast, hosted by Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes, and talked about the downfall of the infamous “White House.”
Not to be confused with the residence of the U.S. president, this White House, at 115 Dorsett Drive in Irving, was known for debauchery and partying, and was frequented by Irving and other players during the team’s 1990s dynasty.
Irvin says he was initially warned by teammate Leon Lett to shut down the house because word had gotten out, but said it was a meeting with team owner Jerry Jones that made him realize that Lett had given him good advice.
“I remember walking in that office, man, and Jerry said, ‘Michael, there’s stories breaking right now about some extra house y’all got called the White House.’ I said ah, [expletive] I should have shut her down,’” joked Irvin.
The house would eventually be shut down in 1996, and garnered mention in the recent Dallas Cowboys documentary on Netflix, “America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys.”
