Dak Prescott threw his third-longest NFL pass Thursday. Here are the other two

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott threw the third-longest pass of his NFL career, and his longest on the road, when he hit KaVontae Turpin for an 86-yard touchdown in the second quarter Thursday.

Turpin’s score gave Dallas a 21-3 lead en route to a 30-23 victory over the Washington Commanders in Landover, Maryland.

What were the two times Prescott threw longer passes?

Dec. 30, 2023: CeeDee Lamb for 92 yards vs. Lions

The longest pass of Prescott’s career came two seasons ago when he found a wide-open CeeDee Lamb after a Lions defender fell down in the first quarter at AT&T Stadium.

Lamb caught the ball at the 50-yard line and jogged to the end zone without a Detroit defender to be seen on the TV broadcast, giving Dallas a 7-3 lead.

The Cowboys eventually held on for a 20-19 victory. Prescott threw for 345 yards and two touchdowns, and Lamb caught 13 passes for 227 yards and the score.

Prescott’s second-longest pass also came against the Washington franchise, this time on Thanksgiving at AT&T Stadium.

Amari Cooper hauled in the pass at the Dallas 33-yard line among three Washington defenders, then made a sharp cut to the left and ran away from all of them for the score to put Dallas ahead 24-13 in the third quarter.

The Cowboys went on to a 31-23 victory. Prescott threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns, and Cooper caught eight passes for 180 yards and two scores.
