Hall of Famer says this Dallas Cowboy is best in the NFL at his position
Pro Football Hall of Famer Devin Hester was recently asked who he thought the top current returner in the NFL was.
“I like the kid from Dallas, KaVontae Turpin,” Hester said while talking to Hard Rock Bet sportsbook. “As of right now, I feel like he’s the best in the game.”
The former Chicago Bears great speaks with some authority, as the first player who was primarily a returner to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He returned six kickoffs and 14 punts for touchdowns during his career, including the opening kickoff of Super Bowl 41 against the Indianapolis Colts in 2007.
Turpin has been one of the league’s best returners, with two Pro Bowls in the past three seasons. Last year, the TCU product earned an All-Pro selection for the first time and led the league in kick return yards and yards per return.
Turpin also had his best season as a pass catcher, setting a career high in receptions (31) and yards (420), more than doubling his numbers from the previous season.
Turpin had a stellar training camp for the Cowboys and could be in line for his most successful season to date.
