Where did NFL coaches and scouts rank CeeDee Lamb among the top NFL receivers?
ESPN has been releasing top ten rankings for the best players in the NFL at varying positions, consulting with NFL scouts, executives and coaches.
So far, they’ve ranked running backs, defensive tackles, edge rushers, safeties, tight ends, interior offensive linemen, offensive tackles, quarterbacks, off-ball linebackers and wide receivers.
How many Dallas Cowboys made the list?
The Cowboys had four players make the lists, with the highest ranking going to Tyler Smith, who the pollsters say is the second-best interior offensive lineman in the NFL.
Smith has made two straight Pro Bowls and was cited as the most physically impressive guard in the NFL, according to an unnamed general manager.
Micah Parsons was next best, coming in at third on the list of top edge rushers and had 43 tackles, 12 sacks and 12 tackles for loss last season despite missing four games due to injury.
In his four NFL seasons, Parsons has made a Pro Bowl every year and never had fewer than 12 sacks in a season.
CeeDee Lamb was named the fourth-best wideout by the rankings. The Oklahoma product has had four straight seasons of at least 1,100 yards and five touchdowns while garnering All-Pro selections in each of the last three seasons.
Last year, he had 101 receptions for 1,194 yards with six touchdowns despite missing starting quarterback Dak Prescott for the majority of the season.
The last Cowboy listed was DeMarvion Overshown, ranked as the eighth-best off-ball linebacker despite an injury-filled start to his career.
In 13 games last season, Overshown had 90 tackles with eight tackles for loss, five QB hits and an interception, showing off his elite athleticism at the position.
Overshown is recovering from a torn ACL, MCL and LCL and is expected to miss the start of the season and return by November.
