Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty says he was prank-called during NFL Draft

Ashton Jeanty was recently selected with the No. 6 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders. He was also one of many NFL draftees who were prank-called, including Shedeur Sanders, during or after the draft about being picked.

Jeanty told Fansided.com that he wasn’t called until after he was drafted, when he was told he was being traded to the Dallas Cowboys.

“I got prank calls like after, though, like some dude called me, was like we just traded with the Raiders and you’re coming to the Cowboys and I just hung up,” said Jeanty.

There are still more stories being revealed about players prank called during the NFL Draft, including Chase Lundt, a sixth-round pick by the Buffalo Bills, who fielded five fake calls before the real one came through.

One of the pranksters, Jax Ulbrich, son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, was caught after video surfaced of him and a friend calling Sanders.

The NFL punished the elder Ulbrich with a fine of $100,000, and the Falcons were fined $250,000 for the incident.
