The NFLPA has released team report cards. How did players rate the Dallas Cowboys?
The NFLPA released its annual report card, in which players grade their teams on eight categories: Treatment of families, nutrition, weight room, strength staff, training staff, training room, travel and locker room.
Each team in the league is rated on those factors with grades ranging from F- to an A+ and on this year’s report 1,695 players participated.
The Cowboys’ 2024 report card ranked them twelfth best last year, and this year, the team jumped into the top ten, securing the 10th-best report card in the league.
Jerry Jones was given a B, which ranked 18th-best for a team owner. When players were asked if they believed their owner was committed to fielding a competitive team, their response ranked Jones 25th in the league.
The Cowboys were given A’s in four categories by their players; treatment of families, weight room, locker room and head coach (the survey was taken before Mike McCarthy’s departure and Brian Schottenheimer’s hiring).
Players praised McCarthy for being effective with the use of time and listening to them. The Cowboys post-game family area was ranked as the second-best in the NFL while the franchise was one of only five that had every player feel like their locker room size was adequate.
The Cowboys’ lowest grade received was a C for their training staff and room. The reasons for those grades are that players feel the team doesn’t have enough full-time physical therapists or trainers.
The top-ranked team overall was the Miami Dolphins who received A’s in every category and had team owner Stephen Ross given the top grade for any owner in the NFL for the second year in a row.
