Dallas Cowboy edge rusher Micah Parsons responds to rumors of trade from the team

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons responded to rumors that the team was considering trading him on his show “The Edge with Micah Parsons,” on Monday.

The rumors emerged after Cowboys Chief Operating Officer Stephen Jones was interviewed by the NFL’s website and commented on whether the team would be better served signing mid-tier free agents rather than high-tier signings like Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb.

“I think that’s a balancing act that you always got to look at,” Jones said. “Especially when your good, good players get hurt and are not on the field. It totally magnifies the issue if you lose guys like Dak, and Diggs misses games, Zack Martin misses games and it’s going to magnify something like that. You’re going to say ‘God, are we smart having this much money tied in to the top five to 10 players?’”

Jones was clear on his stance on Parsons saying he couldn’t envision a future where the All-Pro defender wasn’t on the Cowboys and Parsons agreed saying he would find a way to spend his enter career in Dallas.

“We’re gonna figure out a way for me to be a Cowboy for life. I think [Jerry Jones] and [Stephen Jones] see it that way, too,” Parsons said. “I’m gonna be real excited at the end of this year and I hope the fans are gonna be excited cause I think it’s gonna be a great offseason. I do think we’re gonna attack free agency.”

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones appeared on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday and further dispelled any rumors about Parsons’s not remaining in Dallas.

“That’s never been uttered in this organization that we don’t have a future with Micah Parsons,” said Jones.

Parsons has one more year remaining on his contract after the Cowboys activated a fifth-year club option worth $24.007 million.
