Dallas Cowboys to have ‘Simpsons’-themed telecast option for MNF clash with Bengals

The Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals will be the latest NFL teams to feature in a real-time animated game when they play on Monday Night Football on Dec. 9.

The game will air traditionally at 7:15 p.m. on ESPN but a special alternate telecast called Funday Football will be available which will animate the players and stadium as characters and places from the Simpsons in real-time so fans can watch the game as if it were happening in the Simpson’s fictional home of Springfield.

Fans who want to watch the Simpsons-themed telecast can watch on NFL+, only on mobile, ESPN+ or Disney+.

The game will also feature many of the show’s most popular characters including Bart, Lisa and Homer among others who will appear throughout the broadcast and will have its own unique commentary team from the traditional broadcast with Mina Kimes, Dan Orlovsky and Drew Carter calling the game.

This is not the first alternate telecast, as the league has also worked with Toy Story during the 2023 season for a Funday Football game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Atlanta Falcons.
