What are the Dallas Cowboys’ chances of making the playoffs after a week 12 win?
The Dallas Cowboys (4-7) broke their five-game losing streak with a 34-26 win over the Washington Commanders (7-5).
So what are the Cowboys chances of making the playoffs?
ESPN’s Football Power Index uses thousands of simulations to predict the regular season and gives Dallas a less than 1% chance to make the playoffs.
NFL’s NextGen Stats has their prediction model which is similarly down on the Cowboys giving them a 5% chance to make the postseason.
The Cowboys are currently on the outside looking in on the playoff race sitting five games behind NFC East leader, the Philadelphia Eagles (9-2), and three games back in the win column from the Washington Commanders who own the last spot in the NFC Wild Card race.
The Cowboys will look to continue their winning ways when they play the New York Giants (2-9) at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday at AT&T Stadium.
They then play at home against Cincinnati on Dec. 9, at Carolina on Dec. 15, home against Tampa Bay on Dec. 22, at Philadelphia on Dec. 29 and home against Washington on Jan. 5.
If they run the table and finish 10-7, they’d likely squeeze into the playoffs. One loss, however, would make a trip to the postseason quite difficult.
