Dallas Cowboys

What injury forced Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons out of Thursday’s game?

The Dallas Cowboys lost star edge rusher Micah Parsons late in the fourth quarter of the team’s 20-15 Thursday Night Football win over the New York Giants.

Parsons suffered a reportedly high ankle sparin in the fourth quarter after rushing Giants quarterback Daniel Jones on a critical third down. A Giants offensive lineman fell on his left leg. Parsons stayed down, then was helped off the field by training staff.

Parsons suffered the injury and was carted off the field following the play.

He was expected to have a MRI on Friday.

Depending on the severity of the injury Parsons could join a list of prominent injured Cowboys that includes DaRon Bland, Caelen Carson and Sam Williams.

Parsons also left the field earlier in the game with a pinched nerve in his neck. However, after he was observed by medical personnel, he was allowed to return to the game.

Parsons is in his fourth NFL season and has notched 10 tackles and one sack through the first three weeks of the 2024 NFL season.

DeMarcus Lawrence was also injured on Thursday, suffering a foot injury. He is also expected to have a MRI.

Both players could miss the Oct. 6 game at Pittsburgh.
