The Dallas Cowboys dethroned as America’s ‘most hated’ NFL team. Who took their place?
The most polarizing NFL team in America has, arguably, been the Dallas Cowboys.
But new data shows that NFL fans are focusing their wrath elsewhere.
In a recent survey, Bet Online examined more than 120,000 postings on X, formerly known as Twitter, to determine which team received the most criticism.
They discovered that the Kansas City Chiefs had taken the No. 1 spot.
“The reason for this? More than likely, it’s fan fatigue caused by Kansas City’s continued success, which doesn’t look like it’s slowing down any time soon (Four Super Bowl appearances in the last five seasons). If the Chiefs complete the three-peat (winning three in a row), expect this negative sentiment to grow even more,” analysts said.
Those sentiments are strikingly comparable to what fans had to say about the New England Patriots under Tom Brady during their tenure.
The Dallas Cowboys and the New England Patriots have held the title of “most disliked” for several years.
Tweets like “I hate the Chiefs,” “Screw the Chiefs,” “The Chiefs suck,” and “The Chiefs are the worst” helped the defending Super Bowl champions dethrone the Cowboys for the most hated title. Over 130,000 tweets with such commentary were tracked, according to Bet Online data.
Dallas is still high in the ranking, at No. 2 with 7,992 negative sentiments directed at the team. The most disliked team has been monitored for six seasons now.
