Dallas Cowboys trade disappointing cornerback Nahshon Wright to the Minnesota Vikings

A year after trading a disappointing cornerback draft pick for another team’s disappointing cornerback draft pick, the Dallas Cowboys did the same with the Minnesota Vikings on Friday.

The Cowboys traded cornerback Nahshon Wright to the Vikings for cornerback Andrew Booth.

Wright was a third-round pick of the Cowboys in 2021 and has just three starts and one interception.

He had already been surpassed by 2022 fifth-round pick DaRon Bland, who led the team interceptions last season and made All-Pro.

The Vikings took Booth in the second round of the 2022 draft. While he played just six games as a rookie, he appeared in all 17 last season with one start.

Booth will compete for playing time in Dallas behind starters Trevon Diggs, Bland and Jourdan Lewis and against impressive rookies Caelen Carson, Eric Scott and Josh Butler.

A year ago, the Cowboys traded 2021 second-round pick Kelvin Joseph to the Miami Dolphins for 2020 first-round pick Noah Igbinoghene.

Neither are with the respective teams in 2024.

Joseph is with the Kansas City Chiefs and Igbinoghene with the Washington Commanders.
