Mike McCarthy, Dallas Cowboys officially clinch playoff berth for third straight season

The NFL sent a list of 14 scenarios in which the Dallas Cowboys (10-3) could clinch the playoffs this weekend.

The easiest and simplest way was to beat the Buffalo Bills (7-6).

As one of the hottest teams in NFL with wins in seven of their last eight games, including five straight, the Cowboys were focused on taking care of their own business and getting to 11 wins.

But they didn’t have to wait that long to clinch a playoff berth.

Thanks to losses by the Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers on Sunday and a win by the Detroit Lions on Saturday, the Cowboys officially punched their ticket to the postseason before taking the field against the Bills.

It marked their third straight trip to the postseason under head coach Mike McCarthy.
