Why was Coach Prime at Cowboys-Seahawks game on Thursday night?

Less than 24 hours after Sports Illustrated named him its Sportsperson of the Year, Deion Sanders came home to Texas to attend the Cowboys’ home game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Sanders, also known as Coach Prime, finished his first season as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes. And although the Buffs finished with a 4-8 record (including a season-opening win over TCU), he gained national attention for turning over the Colorado roster.

Sanders played for the Cowboys from 1995-99. The Cowboys are one of five NFL teams he played for during his pro football career.

Sanders was on the field meeting with Cowboys players, coaches and owner Jerry Jones prior to the game. Shedeur Sanders, Deion’s son and the Colorado starting quarterback, joined his father on the field.
