Is this just the beginning of honors for Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott, CB DaRon Bland?
It was a no brainer that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and cornerback DaRon Bland were honored as the NFC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Month for November.
Heading into the Thursday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, Prescott used the month to play the best football of his career,
He has a passer rating of 121.7 with 1,298 yards, 13 touchdowns and one interception in four games. It was the most touchdown passes in the NFL and the most yards by a quarterback in the NFC.
And Bland did something that has never ever been done, making NFL history becoming the first person return five interceptions for touchdowns in one season.
Bland has 20 tackles, four pass deflections and three interceptions in four games, including two that were returned for touchdowns in back to back games against the Carolina Panthers and Washington Commanders to tie and then set a new NFL record for pick-sixes in a season.
Their impressive play in November has put them smack dab in the middle of the conversations for NFL MVP and NFL Defensive Player of the Year Honors.
Some consider both the current front runner in each category because of their strong seasons.
Prescott is the No. 1 ranked quarterback in the NFL by Pro Football Focus. He is second in the NFL in passing touchdowns (23), completion percentage (70.0) and quarterback rating (107.4)
Bland leads the NFL in interceptions with 7 and his 5 touchdowns are more than a number of high profile receivers in the league.
This the first time ever that the Cowboys have had two winners in the same month.
Prescott and Bland, who both won the award for the first time in their careers, give the Cowboys four monthly award winners in 2023.
Edge rusher Micah Parsons was Defensive Player of the Month for September. Kicker Brandon Aubrey won Special Teams Player of the Month for October.
