Dallas Cowboys

Why does ESPN’s Steven A. Smith rank the Dallas Cowboys No. 3 in NFC East?

After a dominant first two weeks to open the season, the Cowboys fell 28-16 to the Arizona Cardinals and ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith said the game backed up his theories on Dak Prescott.

Smith was on “First Take,” when he explained why he picked the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers as superior teams heading into the season.

“There’s a reason I had ‘em [the Cowboys] as the third-best team in the NFC,” said Smith, “It’s because of that man at the quarterback position [Dak Prescott.]”

Smith continued talking about Prescott’s lack of playoff success.

“The reality is he’s got two playoff victories in eight years, it’s unacceptable, “ said Smith, “ There’s nothing to believe that he’s gonna get [win] No. 3 or No. 4 this season, in the postseason.”

Fellow panelist Shannon Sharpe agreed with Smith saying Prescott was too inconsistent at the quarterback position.

Smith finished the segment by saying he was thinking of attending the Cowboys Monday night game against the Chargers on Oct. 16.
