Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons leaves practice early with leg injury, says he’s OK

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons missed the final 11 plays of first-team red-zone work on Tuesday after being kicked on a play.

He was seen limping after practice, and his lower left leg was taped up.

“It’s just something that happened to me, it’s football,” Parsons said.

He said he is not worried about the injury but planned to get it checked out by the athletic trainers.

If the injury was serious, the Cowboys likely would have removed Parsons from the field immediately to get it checked out.

His status for Wednesday’s practice, the final padded one for training camp, is unknown. The Cowboys will have a walk-though practice on Thursday before departing for Seattle on Friday in advance of Saturday’s preseason game against the Seahawks.

Parsons didn’t play in the preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars and wasn’t expected to play against the Seahawks.

Coach Mike McCarthy plans to hold all of his veteran starters out of preseason games.

Parsons, a first team All-Pro in his first two seasons with a combined 26.5 sacks, was having the best training camp of any Cowboys player before the injury.

The Cowboys will resume training camp at their headquarters at the Ford Center in Frisco next Tuesday.
