Mike McCarthy on Dallas Cowboys talent: It’s definitely the best of the past four years

The Dallas Cowboys head into the 2023 NFL season as one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl because their roster is one of the best in the NFL according to pundits.

According to Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy, this year’s team is the most talented of his Dallas tenure.

“To give you a comparable, it’s definitely the best of the four years,” McCarthy said on Tuesday in Oxnard, Calif., the first official day of the Cowboys begin training camp.

The Cowboys brought back a majority of their starters from last season and have added players like defensive back Stephon Gilmore, top draft pick Mazi Smith and wide receiver Brandin Cooks to fill out the roster.

McCarthy said the mix of young and veteran talent and how those players mesh is critical to winning a championship.

McCarthy is excited about the culture the team has built.

“I feel great about our culture, I had a chance to have dinner last night with the leadership council,” said McCarthy, “ I’m so impressed with our leadership group.”
