USA Today sports writer Mike Freeman ranked all the best fan bases in the NFL and split them into 10 tiers.

Who was the No. 1 team and where did the Dallas Cowboys rank?

The No. 1 fan base, according to Freeman, was the Cleveland Browns, who he said earned points for supporting the team through years of suffering and losing.

Cowboy fans were seen less favorably by Freeman, being placed in the second-worst tier and lambasted for being overrated front-runners.

However, Cowboy fans are among the most supportive and vociferous in the NFL, with the team having by far the highest fan attendance in the NFL during the 2022-23 season, according to BetMGM.

The Cowboys placed second-lowest out of all of their NFC East rivals, with the New York Giants being placed in the lowest tier.

The Washington Commanders were the top team in the fifth tier, and the highest-ranked NFC East team was the Philadelphia Eagles, which was the top team in the second-highest tier.
