Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said there are no plans to add anyone to the team’s hallowed Ring of Honor in 2023.

That means that coach Jimmy Johnson, who led the Cowboys to two Super Bowl titles in the 1992 and 1993 and is considered the architect of the dynasty teams of the 1990s with three titles in four years, is still waiting at the door.

When Johnson was inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021, Jones promised that he would be enshrined in the team’s Ring of Honor.

But Jones has yet to come through on that promise.

The Cowboys have not placed a new member to the Ring of Honor since 2018 when Hall of Famer and long-time Cowboys scouting chief Gil Brandt was inducted.

Jones reiterated that the team has no plans for any new inductions at this time. But he left the door open for possible change in plans with defensive end DeMarcus Ware slated into enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August.

“We’ll look at that later as we get on into the year of course,” Jones said. “Obviously, we’ve got DeMarcus that is front and center.”

DeMarcus Ware, not Jimmy Johnson, that is front and center.
