Cowboys legend Daryl Johnston has been named president of the USFL heading into the second season of the rebooted spring football league according to Jeff Fedotin of Forbes.

A joint venture between Brian Woods and FOX Sports the new look USFL launched in 2022 and shares only iconography with the original USFL.

Johnston was formerly vice president of the league until the departure of former president Brian Woods.

Johnston has been a part of several spring football leagues over his career, serving positions in the Alliance of American Football and the XFL before joining the USFL.

Johnston still serves as a broadcaster for NFL on Fox, partnering with Joe Davis and Pam Oliver in the booth.

The USFL kicks off on April 15, with a matchup between the Philadelphia Stars and the Memphis Showboats at 3:30 p.m. CT at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium (FOX).
